Cameroon Spotlight

Cameroonian importers commonly source from Asia (especially China), Europe, the Middle East and other African markets. The trade agreement between Cameroon and the European Union, and the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), may reduce duties on qualifying goods, so a supplier's country of origin can affect your landed cost, not just your purchase price. Because pre-shipment inspection normally happens in the exporting country, agree early with the supplier on inspection access and timing so it does not delay your shipment. Be especially wary of requests for large advance payments to unfamiliar suppliers with no verifiable history.

TIP

Your country: find your national trade promotion agency and chamber of commerce, which often provide buyer guides and supplier introductions.
