Cameroon Spotlight

Import transactions in Cameroon are domiciled with an authorised bank, and international payments go through the banking system under CEMAC foreign-exchange regulations. Mobile money is generally not suited to international supplier payments, since it is built for domestic and regional transfers rather than cross-border trade settlement. Ask your bank about transfer limits, the documents required for outbound payments, and whether it offers letters of credit or trade finance products for importers before you place a large order that depends on one.

TIP

Your country: find your central bank's foreign-exchange rules and the banks that offer letters of credit and trade finance.
