To trade as an importer in Cameroon you generally need registration in the Trade and Personal Property Credit Register (RCCM), a tax identification number (NIU), a trader card and a professional importer card, plus a bank relationship because imports are domiciled with an authorised bank. Customs clearance is normally handled by an approved customs broker (commissionnaire en douane agree). Cameroon also runs a scheme that rewards reliable, compliant traders with faster clearance, which is worth asking your broker or the GUCE office about once you have a track record.
