Cameroon Spotlight

Cameroon's customs nomenclature follows the Harmonized System, and as a CEMAC member Cameroon applies the CEMAC Common External Tariff, meaning the same basic tariff structure is used across CEMAC's member states, with national additions layered on top. Certificates of origin, issued by chambers of commerce, matter for preferential treatment under agreements such as the EU arrangement and AfCFTA. Declared values are also cross-checked during the mandatory pre-shipment inspection, so invoices must reflect genuine transaction prices.
