Cameroon Spotlight

Cameroon is a member of OHADA (the Organisation for the Harmonisation of Business Law in Africa), whose uniform acts govern commercial law and arbitration across member states, which matters when a contract is governed locally rather than under a foreign law. Many sea imports into Cameroon are priced FOB or CIF. Check whether cargo insurance must be arranged locally before choosing an Incoterm, since Cameroonian import rules have at times required insurance to be organised locally to meet licensing regulations, which affects who should logically buy it.

TIP

Your country: find your commercial law on sale contracts and any rules on where insurance or payment must be arranged.
